This Enfocus PitStop command allows us to apply a dashed pattern to the outline of the selected vector or text objects with the chosen values. If nothing has been selected, the change will be applied to all objects that can be changed.
If a vector or text object does not have thickness or colour, the order seems to do nothing, but the change is applied and it will appear if any colour or thickness is added to the path or text later.
The order will make a path stroke continuous or vice versa, discontinuous (that is, dashed). The change is requested by clicking one of the two icons:
The path stroke must be continuous.
The path stroke must be dashed (not continuous).
Warning: If none of the icons is clicked, the command will not change anything, even if it is included in an action list.
If we choose to make the path stroke dashed, its characteristics can be specified by filling in the following fields:
"On
": Stroke.
"Off
": Gap.
The rhythmn of the sequence stroke-gap-stroke-etc. is set in the order we can see in the above screengrab. If we are not sure how it will look, the corresponding tool in the PitStop Inspector allows us to see live the effect so that we can decide the sequence we need in the script.
The "Phase
" option determines an offset to start the the application of the stroke-gap sequence; that is, if in "Phase
" we set "3 mm
", the sequence will offset 3 mm before starting. This option is to better fit patterns to specific objects, which will look best if the pattern starts at a certain point.
