This Enfocus PitStop command allows us to change the encoding of a document from "ASCII
" to "binary
" or vice versa. If the document structure is already in the chosen encoding, there is no change.
Warning: This difference, derived from the PostScript language, was due to the fact that originally the ASCII encoding of the structures produced fewer problems in some data transmission systems (especially e-mail) while the binary encoding was more compact and efficient. Today this problem no longer exists.
This change affects the structure of the document, not the binary objects within it.
