This Enfocus PitStop command allows us to change the fill type for paths with gaps or overlapping parts. The options are two mathematical rules (used in PostScript or vector formats such as SVG). Summarised (without going into complexities):
"
Non-zero Winding rule
". This is the default fill type. Gaps in compound paths or simple paths that overlap themselves (such as the star) are left unfilled."
Even-odd rule
". This is the other type of filling. Gaps in simple layouts are not filled and in complex layouts, gaps are only filled if the inner and outer subplots follow different directions.
If no path is selected, the command will affect all vector paths.
In the PitStop inspector, the way to find out what type of fill a shape has (and to change it) is to select the object and look at the bottom area of the screen "Fill and stroke - fill
" and see which of these two icons is active ("Fill
" or "Eofill
").
