This Enfocus PitStop command allows us to modify the options of the layers previously selected. If no layers have been selected and there are layers in the document, the command will affect all of them.
The command has two options:
- "
Change default visibility to
": we can choose to set the default state of the layer as "Visible
" or "Invisible
". "
Change presence in layer configuration to
": We can choose between "Present
" or "Not present
". If we choose "Not present
", the selected layers disappear from the layer menu listing, as if they no longer exist. But, although they are no longer present, they still exist. If we select them and choose the "Present
" status, they will be listed again. For instance, this is useful to add some kind of mark not visible on the screen but that will always appear at printing time. As it will not be displayed in a layer menu, it will not be easy to tamper with.
Warning: As this command can be applied without selecting any layer beforehand, it may affects all layers in the document (hiddeen or not). So, revealing all hidden layers in a document with PitStop or any other able software is very easy as we don't need to know their names.
