This Enfocus PitStop order allows us to modify the order of a previously selected object or group of objects. If there is no selection, the command has no effect.
"Order" means "stacking order", that is: the placement of the selected object on top below others on the same page on the same layer (if there is more than one layer). An object is "in front" or "on top" of other items when it hides them wholly or partially. An object is "behind" or "below" other items when they totally or partially cover it.
Changing the "order" does not affect the interaction between objects that are on different layers. If an object is masked, the mask also changes its order. If the selection is a group, the group changes its order, maintaining its own internal ordering relationship.
The possible order changes are:
-
To back:
The object goes below any other object in the same layer. It gets totally or partially hidden. -
To front:
The object goes on top of any other object in the same layer. It hids them totally or partially. -
Forward:
The object moves up one position in the stack. -
Backward:
Object moves down one position in the stack.
In general sense, the command works the same as in design programs such as Adobe InDesign or Illustrator, QuarXPress and the like.
