This Enfocus PitStop command allows us to enable or disable stroke adjustment, an optional feature of on-screen or print rendering of PDF documents that alters the conversion to pixels or print points of vector paths.
When enabled, paths are attempted to be rendered so that they always have the same appearance of thickness, regardless of whether they fall right on a pixel (or print point) or between two pixels. This produces a rounding that avoids broken or jagged-looking lines when printing.
However, on screen, where resolutions are much lower, this setting may result in broken or jagged looking lines or ghost lines (white lines between objects that do not actually exist), so it may be preferable to turn it off.
In most cases, turning it on or off should not have a very noticeable visual effect.
It has only two settings: "On
" and "Off
".
