This Enfocus PitStop command allows us to check the number of plates that each checked object will use in printing. If no object is selected, the command checks all objects within range.
The action allows us to choose the number of plates to be checked and their condition ("less than
", "equal to or less than
", etc.).
In addition, with the checkboxes "Fill color
" and "Stroke color
" we can limit the check to only one or both of these aspects. If we want to check pixel objects (pictures), as usual, we should choose "Fill
".
Warning: This command checks objects, not the plates a page will need. This means, for example, that even if all the objects involved in a page will only need two plates each, the whole final page will need six plates.
Furthermore, this plate check refers to process and spot colours. Other possible separation schemes (e.g. multitone) are not considered.
If PitStop finds objects that do not meet the checked condition, it will output the needed information about it and the PDF will be marked as chosen in the "Log
" area for further processing.
