This Enfocus PitStop command allows us to convert the colour of selected objects to vector colour shadings. If no object has been previously selected, the command will affect all objects in its reach that can receive that type of colour space.
The result of this command depends very much on the colour space of the affected objects:
If we have selected, tyhe gradient is applied as if they were a whole element (but they are not), from left (the colour the object already has) to right (the lightest possible tint of that colour; that is: all its colorants at 0%). The vertical axis is not taken into account and the gradient is always linear.
If all selected objects have exactly the same colour, the colour is retained as the darkest part of the gradient.
If there is the slightest difference in colour or colour space, the colour on the left of the gradient becomes 100% black in DeviceGray mode. The same is true if the colour space is a pattern colour space.
Objects that are already in colour shading mode are not affected.
