This Enfocus PitStop command allows us to change the PDF/A version key of a document. There are five variants to choose from (level 1 and 2 only). If the document does not have a PDF/A key, the necessary XMP metadata structure is added to it.
Warning: This command does not convert the document into a PDF/A or make it comply with the restrictions of a particular variant of that standard. It only adds the requested key.
Thus, if a document changed with this command is opened in a program such as Acrobat, it will report that it is a PDF/A and open it in read-only mode, but if we parse it with a PDF/A checking profile for the supposed level to which it belongs, the document will not pass validation.
